Description

CIOE – China International Optoelectronic Exposition – one of the world's largest optoelectronics trade fairs, covering the full industry chain from components and materials to equipment and finished solutions. Exhibits span optical communications, precision optics, laser technology and smart manufacturing, infrared and UV technologies, smart sensors, displays, AR/VR, cameras and photonics. In 2026 CIOE runs alongside IICIE (integrated circuits & semiconductors) and elexcon (electronics & embedded systems). All three events take place on the same site — Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Shenzhen — and visitors enter with a single badge.

Airports

Bao'an Airport (SZX) — 32 km northwest of city center. Taxi to downtown (Futian CBD): ¥60–140, 40–50 min. Metro Line 11 to Futian station: ~40 min, ¥8. Also: high-speed train from Guangzhou (30 min), ferry from HK/Macau airports via Fuyong Pier.

Getting Around

16 metro lines — modern and clean. Shenzhen Tong card on all transit. Buses ¥2. Didi and taxis widely available. Cross-border buses to Hong Kong from the airport. English more common here than in many other Chinese cities.

Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (深圳会展中心) — from SZX: taxi ¥80–130, 30 min, or Metro Line 11 → Line 1, 60 min, to Shenzhen Huizhan Zhongxin (Convention & Exhibition Center Station).

Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (深圳国际会展中心) — from SZX: taxi ¥40–80, 20–25 min, or Metro Line 11 → Line 20, 30 min, to Guozhan (Shenzhen World Station). Check which venue — they are ~45 km apart.
