CHINAPLAS — International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries

13–16 April 2027

Shenzhen, Guangdong

Description

Asia's largest plastics and rubber fair, 13–16 April 2027 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao'an). Over 4,000 exhibitors across injection and extrusion machinery, moulds and tooling, raw materials and compounds, recycling and circular-economy technology, automation and smart manufacturing — the single most efficient stop for moulds, resins and processing equipment in China.

About the Fair

CHINAPLAS is Asia's largest exhibition for the plastics and rubber industries, organised by Adsale since 1983. It alternates between Shanghai and Shenzhen. The 2027 edition runs 13–16 April 2027 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao'an).

Over 4,000 exhibitors cover the entire chain: injection moulding, extrusion and blow-moulding machinery; moulds and tooling; raw materials, masterbatch and compounds; auxiliary and peripheral equipment; recycling and circular-economy technology; testing and measurement; automation, robotics and smart-factory systems. Major machinery brands from Germany, Japan, Italy and Austria exhibit alongside the full Chinese supplier base.

For a buyer this is the most efficient plastics trip in Asia. Machinery, moulds and resins are all in one venue, quotations are comparable within a single walk, and you can meet the actual builder of a machine rather than a regional agent. It is also the fair where you can walk a moulded part backwards — from the finished product to the mould shop to the resin supplier — in an afternoon.

Venue Layout — Themed Zones

CHINAPLAS groups its halls by technology, not by country, which makes comparison shopping straightforward once you know which halls you need. Download the current floor plan from chinaplasonline.com before you travel — hall allocation shifts between the Shanghai and Shenzhen venues.

  • Injection moulding machinery — the largest halls, with live machines running. Expect to see clamping forces from 30 to 3,000+ tonnes in operation.
  • Extrusion machinery — pipe, profile, sheet and film lines, compounding extruders, recycling lines.
  • Blow moulding, thermoforming and post-processing.
  • Moulds, dies and tooling — Chinese mould shops from Huangyan, Shenzhen and Ningbo alongside European toolmakers.
  • Raw materials and compounds — commodity and engineering resins, masterbatch, additives, bio-based and recycled grades.
  • Auxiliary and peripheral equipment — dryers, chillers, feeders, temperature controllers, granulators, material handling.
  • Recycling & circular economy — washing lines, pelletisers, sorting technology and rPET/rPE grades; one of the fastest-growing areas.
  • Automation, robotics and smart manufacturing — take-out robots, cells, MES and factory-monitoring platforms.
  • Testing, measurement and quality control.

Concurrent technical symposia and the "Industry 4.0" and "Design x Innovation" zones run through the show — check the programme in advance if the technology, rather than the price, is what you came for.

Venue & Getting There

Venue (2027): Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center — 深圳国际会展中心(宝安)
No. 1 Zhancheng Road, Fuhai Street, Bao'an District, Shenzhen.

Confirm the city before you book. CHINAPLAS alternates between Shenzhen and Shanghai (NECC Hongqiao). Always check the current edition's venue on the official site — buying flights for the wrong city is a mistake that happens every cycle.

By metro (Shenzhen) — Line 20 to Convention & Exhibition Center North (会展中心北) or Convention & Exhibition City (会展城); Line 12 also reaches the venue. From Bao'an Airport (SZX) Line 20 takes about 15 minutes.

From Bao'an Airport (SZX) — taxi ¥40–80, 20–25 minutes; metro Line 20, about 15 minutes.

From central Shenzhen (Futian) — Line 11 to Bitou then Line 20, 45–55 minutes; taxi ¥120–160.

From Hong Kong — high-speed rail from West Kowloon to Shenzhen North (about 20 minutes), then Line 5 → Line 20.

When the venue is Shanghai (NECC Hongqiao) — Metro Line 2 to Xujing East (徐泾东) or Line 17 to Zhuguang Road (诸光路); two stops from Hongqiao Airport and Hongqiao Railway Station.

Inside — machinery halls are heavy, hot and loud, and the venue is 1.8 km end to end. Wear closed shoes, enter at the hall nearest your first appointment, and use the internal shuttles.

Registration & Badge

Pre-register online at chinaplasonline.com using the "Visitor Pre-registration" link. Pre-registration is the cheap route: Adsale charges an on-site admission fee for visitors who did not pre-register, while pre-registered trade visitors are admitted free or at a reduced rate.

You receive an e-badge / QR code by e-mail. Print it or keep it on your phone and collect the physical badge from the self-service kiosks at the entrance. Registration closes shortly before the show opens, so do it at least a week ahead.

Trade visitors only — bring proof. Adsale checks business identity: bring business cards and, ideally, company documentation (letterhead, catalogue, business licence). Students and the general public are not admitted.

The badge covers all four days and every hall. Do not lose it — replacement requires ID at the service counter.

Use the online exhibitor directory to build a route. CHINAPLAS's directory lets you filter by machinery type, material and application and export a shortlist with hall and stand numbers. Given 4,000 exhibitors, this is not optional if you want a productive trip.

Business cards. Bring 300+, bilingual, with WeChat QR. Technical stands will ask for your part drawing or spec — having a one-page spec sheet in Chinese and English gets you a real quotation on the spot instead of a brochure.

Before You Go

Visa. M business visa. April is high season for Chinese fairs — CHINAPLAS overlaps with the Canton Fair period, so consulate queues are long. Apply six weeks out.

Weather. Shenzhen in mid-April is 22–28 °C, humid, with heavy showers likely. Machinery halls are warm; light breathable clothing and closed shoes.

Hotels. April in the Pearl River Delta is the single busiest exhibition month of the year — the Canton Fair runs in Guangzhou at the same time and drains hotel stock across the whole region. Book two to three months ahead; Bao'an near the venue is cheaper and closer than Futian.

Bring your part, not just your idea. For moulds and machines, bring the drawing, the 3D file, the actual sample part, the annual volume and the resin you use. Quotations given without these are meaningless and you will not be able to compare suppliers.

Ask about the machine you will actually receive. Show-floor machines are often the top configuration. Confirm the exact model, controller, screw and barrel specification, warranty terms, spare-parts availability and who does commissioning in your country.

Factory visits. Mould shops and machinery builders in Dongguan, Ningbo and Taizhou are the real evaluation. Arrange visits either side of the fair and confirm before you fly.

Shipping and duties. Machinery is heavy and often needs CE or local certification. Talk to your forwarder and your customs broker about HS codes and certification before you commit to a supplier.

Payments and apps. Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly, a translation app, and a VPN if you rely on Google services.
